Preferences

What it is

Preferences are the personal settings that follow you everywhere in Hub: how the interface looks, what language it's in, how dates are shown, and which currency you see amounts in. You change them in a side panel that slides out from the right of the screen, and the new setting takes effect immediately.

When to use it

Open Preferences when you want to:

  • Switch between light, dark, or system appearance
  • See dates in your local format
  • Read Hub in a different language
  • See amounts in a different currency

These settings are personal — they apply only to you, on every Space and every device you sign in on. They don't change what other people see.

Where to find it

Click the sliders icon (the one labeled Preferences on hover) in the top right of any page. The Preferences panel slides out on the right. Click the X in the panel header — or click the sliders icon again — to close it.

How it works

The panel groups your settings into short sections:

Appearance. Choose Light, Dark, or System. System follows your operating system's setting, so Hub flips to dark mode when your computer does. This section only appears if your administrator has enabled both light and dark modes for your Space.

Date Format. Pick how dates are written across Hub — for example 2026-05-14 or 14/05/2026 or May 14, 2026. The choice affects every date you see, from task due dates to dashboard widgets.

Language. If more than one language is enabled for your Space, you can switch between them here. Hub reloads the page so every label reflects the new language. Only languages your administrator has turned on appear in the list.

Currency. Choose the currency you want amounts shown in. The list is searchable. Hub converts and reformats every money value across the product when you change it.

When changes apply. Date format, language, and currency take effect right after you pick them — Hub reloads the page and confirms with a short toast like "The currency has been changed." Appearance applies instantly without a reload.
